Healthy Diet for May 19 – Give Your “Self” a Makeover

Very few women can ever achieve the fashion model “ideal body,” no matter what their approach. So why set yourself up for failure, guilt, and frustration with an unrealistic and perhaps unhealthy weight goal?

Whether you’re male or female, focus your mind-set and your weight strategies on being fit and healthy.

  • Accept yourself. Remember, healthy bodies come in different shapes and sizes. Set your goals on what’s right for you.
  • Remind yourself. You don’t need to buy into the often unattainable, unhealthy “sleek” standard. Magazine pictures are likely “improved” anyway.
  • Care for yourself. Dump the stress of misguided goals. Eat smart and move more to be your personal best.

If you think you need a makeover:

  • Set a smart weight goal, one that’s just right for you. Check with your physician. If you’re overweight, losing just 10 pounds can make a health difference if your cholesterol, blood pressure, or blood sugar level is too high.
  • Take one step this week to be more fit and healthy. Keep it up!
