Healthy Diet for July 12 – Staying Fit

Attitude is everything! You probably heard that from your parents and teachers when you were growing up. An attitude of personal control over body weight seems to increase the chance of success. That makes sense. To stay motivated, most people need to feel they’re in control and that what they do makes a difference. Fact is, even people genetically programmed to carry more weight can have healthy, it bodies.

To keep a “it” attitude:

  • Learn to love your body, heavy or thin. You’ll be more willing to care for it.
  • Shift your focus away from food and the scale. Tune in to interests that don’t include food.
  • Enjoy positive self-talk. Think about all you can do. Apply that same attitude to healthful eating and staying physically active.
